Season overview
Differences are second season minus first—not a rating. Rates help compare different calendar lengths; raw points depend on the scoring system.
Points progression
Champion or comparison leader’s counted points as a share of their reconstructed total at the selected cutoff. Historical dropped scores are applied consistently. This shows when points were earned, not which season was more competitive.
The title fight
Lead after each round
Gap between the first two drivers as a percentage of the leader’s counted points. Ties are shown explicitly; countback and retrospective adjustments are not reconstructed.
Driver field
Each season is a separate field, not a driver-to-driver matchup. Means exclude non-classified positions; sample counts are shown beneath each average. Lower spread means more consistent classified finishes. Sort a column to sort both seasons.
Definitions and data notes
Race measures include Grands Prix only; points include sprint points. Retirement rate is recorded retirements divided by starts, excluding DNS, DNQ, withdrawals and disqualifications from the retirement count. Disqualifications still count as starts. NC alone is not treated as a retirement. Missing results are not zero-performance evidence.
Through-the-same-round comparisons use a continuous run of recorded Grands Prix in both seasons. Standings and points in that mode are reconstructed at the cutoff. Available-results comparisons use season standings for the summary and recorded results for charts. Historical shared-drive records and retrospective adjustments can produce differences, listed above.
