Championship overview
Differences are second season minus first—not a rating. Percentages make championships with different field sizes and points scales easier to compare.
Points progression
Each champion or comparison leader’s official cumulative points as a share of their total at the selected cutoff. This compares when points were earned, not the absolute scoring scales.
The title fight
Lead after each round
Gap between the first two classified championship entities as a percentage of the leader’s points. Official standings positions decide the leader; equal points are shown as a tie.
Championship fields
Each championship remains a separate field. Averages use positive class positions; lower finish spread means more consistent classified results. For manufacturers, each round uses that manufacturer’s best classified car.
Definitions and data notes
Race-result measures use the class scope attached to each selected championship. Non-classified rate includes recorded starts without a positive class position; did-not-start records are excluded from the denominator. Disqualified and excluded entries remain unclassified.
Matched-round mode uses official cumulative championship standings through the same round number. Raw point totals remain dependent on the rules and race lengths of each season, so normalized charts and rates are the safer cross-era comparison.
