RACELYTIC RATINGS

Performance,
race by race.

An Elo-based view of how drivers performed against the strength of the field—tracked through racing history, independently for every series.

THE IDEA

Beating highly rated rivals matters more. Sprint and reverse-grid races carry half weight, while retirements are softened by distance completed.

HOW IT WORKS

A form signal,
not a verdict.

01

Every rival is a matchup

Each recorded classification becomes a set of head-to-head results. Non-starters are excluded, and beating a stronger rival produces a larger gain.

02

Context changes the weight

Full-distance Grands Prix, E-Prix and feature races carry full weight. Sprints and reverse-grid races carry half weight; shortened races and early retirements reduce the signal further.

03

Experience steadies the score

Ratings react fastest during a driver’s first 10 events, slow after 10 and settle again after 50. Weighted recent evidence independently controls the displayed uncertainty. How evidence works

04

Series stay separate

Each championship has an independent 1500-point pool. Published event changes are zero-sum within that pool, and ratings are not compared across series.

How to read the profile: Expected is the model-implied finishing position before the event; Weight reflects format and race distance. The uncertainty range describes available evidence—not the possible error in one result. Car performance, strategy, reliability and luck remain part of the classifications, so the rating is not a pure measure of driver talent. Open the full guide.
